Counselling

During a counselling session, we might gently explore your past, present and future, and how these connect to the difficulties you’re facing.
As a person-centred counsellor, I am led by you and work collaboratively, supporting you at your own pace.
I also work in an integrated way, drawing from different modalities and evidence-based research to help you find your own solutions and outcomes.
My aim is to support you in moving freely towards the life you want to live and the person you want to be.
You don’t have to have it all figured out before we meet, from the very first session, I’ll provide resources and coping strategies to help you start feeling better...

I work with lots of different people covering issues ranging from stress, anxiety, relationship difficulties, personal difficulties and life changes, self esteem and confidence, anger, work-related problems and bereavement. Although there are many other areas in which I can help.

I specialise in women’s issues, and trust me, nothing shocks me. From body image and sex to gristly postpartum struggles, juggling work and family, or riding the hormonal rollercoaster, no topic is off limits and nothing is ever ‘TMI.’ If talking face to face feels daunting, we can chat online or over the phone until you feel comfortable.

I offer both short and long term counselling for individuals aged 15 and over. I can offer face to face counselling sessions in a therapy room at the Quaker Meeting House in Kelso, or a lovely therapy space just outside Lauder in Scottish Borders.
